Overview:

All Star's South America Snow Session College Program with Sierra Nevada College is the most unique opportunity for shred-addicted college students to combine their passion for skiing or snowboarding with a legitimate, accredited class schedule. Sierra Nevada College runs all our college courses in-house as part of their amazing travel study program. Engage with professors who love to shred sick lines as much as you do – pro skier Michelle Parker instructs our Freeskiing course and pro snowboarder Andrew Burns teaches our Freeriding course. Learn how to improve your photography with a professional snowboard photographer or become a better filmaker by training with professional snowsports filmmakers. Practice Spanish with a native Argentine teacher and use your new skills the same day, earn your AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Training with a seasoned helicopter skiing guide and a leader in the field of avalanche education and research, or take an entrepreneurship course while interning with the All-Star crew.

Taking place during July and August in beautiful Bariloche, Argentina for anyone 16 and older, our College Program gives you the opportunity to knock off up to 12 college credits in a month, all while riding with your ski and snowboard heroes, building kickers, hiking lines, stacking up faceshot after faceshot during the North American summer. Not to mention exploring the beautiful culture and people of San Carlos de Bariloche in Northern Patagonia.  All-Star's education partner, Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe, is a fully-accredited four-year liberal arts college, and its credits transfer back to almost any college or university. Financial aid is even available to those who qualify.  Think “summer school” is a bad thing?  Think again – your friends will be crying once they find out you’ve spent the past two weeks to a month shredding pow in South America, pushing yourself to new limits in the backcountry with the help of pro skiers and riders, and came back to school with a semester’s worth of credits and the only goggle tan on campus.

Are you ready to slay endless Argentine Patagonian powder while stacking up college credits? Whether you’re leaving the country for the first time or you’re a seasoned powder-hungry traveler, the 2011 College Program with Sierra Nevada College offers something for every student – from aspiring athletes to photographers to entrepreneurs and spanish students. Starting in late-July, All-Star offers two two-week sessions with distinct course offerings, and you can even add weeks before or after your courses to get some academics-free shredding. All the information you need to know is laid out below – so wax your boards and get your passport ready!
